... EUROSINT, the European Open Source Intelligence forum, attracted an audience that one rarely sees in the same room in this city: intelligence specialists from national defense and interior ministers; the European Defense Agency; the European Commission; prime ministerial cabinets; the EU Military Staff and Situation Awareness Center; Europol, the pan-EU police network; Interpol; and a scattering of defense companies, nongovernmental organizations and think tanks.

Working Group: Best Practices in OSINT Training - Brussels - 18 February 2010
We are pleased to announce the next EUROSINT Forum Working Group on
Best Practices in Open Source Intelligence.
This interactive session will continue the work begun in 2009 on
developing a "best-practice" training syllabus for intelligence
analysis. To this end, participants will explore the following
questions:
* What are the common analytical challenges we face? How are these
changing?
* What constitutes good analysis? What can we learn from other
professions?
* How do we improve the analytic capabilities of OSINT professionals?
* What modules should be included in a course on intelligence analysis?
Your contributions to these questions will be invaluable to improving
the analytical skills of your fellow OSINT professionals.
Participants:
The working group will be limited to a maximum of 20 people. As
always, priority will be given to full members of the EUROSINT FORUM.
The roundtable is open to non-members on a first come first serve basis.
Date:
The workshop will take place on 18th February 2010.
Venue:
The event will be hosted by the "Royal Military Academy", Hobbema
Sreet, 8 - 1000 Brussels (Schuman Station). How to get to the RMA? http://www.rma.ac.be/RMAdotNet/scsc/infos/default.aspx?Page=1&SubPage=2
